Thanks to Vampire Diaries Web we now have been able to ad an amazing promoshoot of Candice as Caroline aswell as a synopsis for the first episode titled The Return. I’ve also added the promo for season 2, which will premieres on September 9th, under the cut!
KATHERINE HAS RETURNED WITH A VENGEANCE — Picking up on the same night as last season’s finale, Elena (Nina Dobrev) arrives home to a nightmare as she discovers Uncle John’s and Jeremy’s fate. At the hospital, Sheriff Forbes (guest star Marguerite MacIntyre) is comforted by Matt (Zach Roering), Bonnie (Katerina Graham) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) while she waits to hear if Caroline (Candice Accola) will survive the car accident. After a confusing conversation with Elena about the night’s events, Damon is the first to realize that Katherine (also played by Nina Dobrev) has returned. Katherine’s arrival sends Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon on a path to find out what she wants, why she’s back, and how much of a threat she is to the people they love. Meanwhile, still reeling from his father’s death, Tyler (Michael Trevino) is surprised when his charming and mysterious uncle, Mason Lockwood (guest star Taylor Kinney, “Trauma”), arrives to console the family.

If finding out Jeremy’s fate (vampire or not?!) on “The Vampire Diaries” season premiere didn’t sound exciting enough, just wait until you see the new twist executive producer Kevin Williamson teased to Hollywood Crush at Comic-Con two weeks ago. Apparently, there’s going to be plenty of action — and all of the characters will be around to watch it take place.
“Something happens in the first episode that’s sort of a game changer,” Kevin said. “Everyone here was sworn to secrecy because it involves everyone. It’s going to help launch us into the second season in a fresh way and it will be fun.”
And, thankfully, the game-changing event will also include our favorite female sidekicks, Katerina Graham and Candice Accola. If you thought the fact that both Kat and Candice were conspicuously absent from the “VD” panel at Comic-Con was fishy, fear not: their absence from San Diego was due to work scheduling, not casting cuts (we think…nothing’s for certain on “VD” after all). Kevin told MTV News at the time, “Well, someone [referring to Candice] had to work today — well, Friday and tomorrow — when everyone was traveling!”
Actually, Kevin said he’s excited to give the show’s sideline characters a lot more camera time in season 2. “What’s nice about this is that Matt, Caroline, Tyler, and Bonnie were all sort of our secondary characters — they are not part of the triangle. Now, all the storylines I wanted to tell last year and didn’t have time, I can tell them. I’m grateful I can tell the stories I’ve been sitting on. It will involve Caroline and Bonnie and Matt and Tyler, and a new triangle will be born.”
A new triangle, eh?
While Kevin didn’t elaborate too much, he did confirm that the show is casting both the new character Vanessa (whom Damon and Alaric will meet while researching vampire mythology at Duke University), and another young lady. “At the moment, we’re also casting a love interest for a girl in between a friendship.” Our theory: that girl will get in between Matt (Zach Roerig) and Tyler (Michael Trevino).
As far as specific plot information involving the supporting cast, Kevin shared an interesting tidbit about that little witch, Bonnie regarding that promise she made in the season 1 finale — to go after Damon if he kills another innocent person. “Bonnie had a wonderful season, and she’s going to hold true to her promise,” Kevin said. “I think she says it in the first episode [of season 2]: she meant what she said, and she meant business. So she takes a point of view, and she doesn’t let up on it.”

The panel began with a long clip summarising season one, which of course, ended with a look at Katherine driving a knife straight through Uncle John. So what kind of havoc might she cause? Well, Williamson revealed a few things. For one, we’re going to be seeing more Katherine flashbacks, so we’ll get a little history on why she’s the way she is. Also, they debuted footage from season two, which reveals that Katherine didn’t come back to Mystic Falls for Damon — she came for Stefan. She admits to Damon in the clip, “The truth is, I never loved you.” Dun, dun, dun! Williamson said that Stefan and Katherine will come face to face in the first episode of the new season and fellow writer/executive producer Julie Plec hinted that we may see not a love triangle anymore, but “a love square.” Sounds like Dobrev has her work cut out for her!
Jeremy is back! McQueen’s presence proved that the character isn’t completely gone from next season, but the question is, will he be alive (and human) or undead? Williamson is keeping quiet saying, “Jeremy is going to wake up alive or he’s going to wake up dead, but he will wake up.” Personally, I’m glad to see his character sticking around, even if his new circumstances are unclear.
Caroline’s life was also iffy in the season finale and her outcome seemed even more unsure since Candice Accola was no where to be seen at the panel. Plec wasn’t exactly clamouring to clarify where Caroline is headed either, saying, “Caroline’s life is hanging in the balance; it will either be very sad very dramatic or she’ll live to tell the tale.”
Now that Mayor Lockwood is dead, the panel announced that Mrs. Lockwood will be stepping in for his duties during the interim. Williamson revealed that Lockwood’s son Tyler will learn what the curse is about and will come to understand who and what he is. “There will be a transformation,” he said, but star Trevino admitted that he’s “scared to death” about it, because he wants it to look good, not cheesy.
As for the Salvatore brothers’ inner struggles, we’ll be seeing more of it in season two. “Damon is wrestling with the good side of him and Stefan will have to come to terms with being a vampire and excepting it,” Williamson said. But it’s something Somerhalder himself isn’t all that happy about. He chimed in, “The nice Damon freaks me out! I don’t know how to do it well. My favourite scenes are the fun, nutty Damon.” Agreed, Ian, agreed.
Things started to heat up when talk turned from plot to sex…and abs. “Julie and I sit around thinking who’s going to be taking off their clothes next?” Williamson joked. Somerhalder replied, “I take off my clothes all the time!” Davis added that he’d like to see Alaric and Jenna have “filthy dirty sex” in season two. But when the cast was asked about who had the best abs, the votes seemed to be unanimous: Paul Wesley. Somerhalder joked, “I’m too lazy. I like food way too much.”
There were so many deaths in last season’s finale and it sounds like there are more to come. “People are going to die,” said Williamson. But he assured us, “We don’t kill people just to kill people. It has to fit in the story and make sense.”
As for the cast’s own wishes for their characters in season two, they did have a few requests to make of Williamson and Plec. McQueen said he’d like Jeremy to have “more edge,” Wesley would like to do a flashback of Stefan in the eighties and Somerhalder said, “Give Damon Stefan’s bedroom. It’s a bad-ass bedroom.”

Enough with that pesky Edward Cullen and his family-friendly vampire brood! There’s no denying that The CW’s The Vampire Diaries grabbed a good portion of the bloodsucking market this season, and the whole cast is coming back for in the second round!
And, trust, we know that plenty of you are into the fangy fun of it, too.
The hot vamp show stars the adorable Nina Dobrev, bad-boy Paul Wesley and Lost alum Ian Somerhalder in a ferocious mix of teen melodrama and supernatural fantasy. But what really goes down behind the scenes on the sweaty, steamy set in Atlanta, Georgia?
We recently caught up with stars Candice Accola and Steven R. McQueen, who play ex-mega-bitch Caroline and screwed-up outsider Jeremy, and wrenched a few droplets of bloody cast dish from them:
They still get starstruck.
Accola’s intimidated by iconic women, none more so than Diane Keaton. “I had the opportunity to meet her on the way to the pilot,” she says. “She sat behind Kayla [Ewell] and I on the airplane. I was all ready to say, ‘You are an inspiration to young women everywhere!’ and all that came out was, ‘You are, like, awesome!’ Ha. That’s how suave I get.”
They like other vampires.
“I’ve been on a True Blood kick,” says Accola, who also plans to see Eclipse when she and the other girls reconvene in Atlanta in July to begin filming. “Definitely by the time we get back.”
Meanwhile, McQueen is a fervent Team Edward supporter.
“Vampires are just cool, you know?” he says, adding. “They just have some sort of rebel authority that’s kind of cool.”
They’re humble.
Like many young stars today, they remember where they come from.
“I was working in an ice rink before all this,” laughs McQueen. “Work became not only a gift, but therapeutic as well…the entire experience has been a blessing.” Accola agrees. “It’s amazing,” she says. “It’s just wonderful that everyone’s enjoying watching it as much as we are making it.”
They cause trouble on set.
“We’re constantly doing pranks, most of which I can’t talk about ’cause they’re kind of, you know, mum’s the word sort of things,” says McQueen.
Accola’s adds: “We don’t really joke around too much because it’s a lot to do in a little amount of time, but biggest troublemaker? Nina, for sure. She’s the sneakiest.”
They kinda, sorta, don’t really, or do they, hook up.
Both kids braced the question of on-set romance with enough hesitation and nervous laughter to make us double-take.
“I’m sure by the end of all these seasons, everyone’s gonna say that we’ve all dated each other,” says Accola. When asked about Nina and Ian’s rumored romance, McQueen said, “I wish I knew.” When asked about Nina and himself, he said, “I wish I knew.”
Hmm. Wish we did, too.

Lyme Awareness
Lyme disease has a tendency to consume your life. Not only the sick person's life, but the lives of our loved ones as well. It is unavoidable.
This isn't all bad. Our lives are so consumed that it seems no matter who we talk to we eventually end up on the topic of Lyme disease. Which, if nothing else, helps to spread awareness.
